During this workshop, learn easy, practical ways to engage your staff and board members in jumpstarting your nonprofit organization’s planned giving efforts—an essential part of fundraising.

Nonprofit staff and board members will learn how to create or enhance a robust planned giving program with no money and in just 2-3 hours per month. Our presenter, Bryan Clontz, will explain planned giving in simple terms, describe what really motivates donors to give, how to prospect and have the conversation while literally providing a step-by-step action plan for when attendees get back to the office.

Over the last 20 years, more than 3,000 attendees have enjoyed and benefited from this talk and nearly everyone says, “I never thought it could be this easy and for absolutely no money!”

Bryan will discuss the best practices of nonprofit board engagement, prospecting, marketing, cultivating donors, having the conversation, gift documentation and recognition. He will also cover some trends and tax act goodies. The session will be very practical and will offer specific how-to suggestions that attendees can follow immediately!

Attendees will learn:

  • How to include planned giving/endowment building in your development plan
  • Why planned giving/endowment building is so important
  • How to be prepared to make the ask and execute
  • How to engage the board
  • What the tax act issues are and common trends

Who should attend?

To maximize the benefit of this session, nonprofit staff members should be accompanied by at least two or three board members but having four or more will make a world of difference.
